The beach was named after the Olympic runner Agnonta or Agnon when he returned a winner to the beach in 596 BC from Olympia. In honor of the Olympic champion Agnonta, this area took his name. Indeed, the face of Agnontas is depicted on silver coins of the classical era.

Agnontas Beach is located on the south side of Skopelos Island. It is only 8 km away from Skopelos Town. By car, you will need about 10 minutes to arrive. Access is easy as there is an asphalt road network. There is also organized local transport.

In the picturesque harbor of Agnontas, on Skopelos Island,  you will find many fishing boats. In the evenings, fishermen go out to sea to catch fish, lobsters, squid, and shrimp. So you will enjoy the catch of the day at the local taverns.

The sunset is also unique in Agnontas. At the port with the crystal waters, where the pine trees literally touch the sea, you will not easily find winds. The beach is basically located in a sheltered bay. So even on days of bad weather sea remains relatively calm.

The area of ​​Agnodas is popular, apart from the taverns there are also apartments for rent. Next to Agnontas, you will meet Amarantos rock with characteristic pine trees that lean over the sea.
