Traveling from Mantoudi Evia to Skopelos

The summer is almost here, and you wonder where to spend your holidays. Greek islands are always your first choice!! Have you ever been to Skopelos island in Northern Sporades (Skiathos, Skopelos, Alonissos)?
Do not ever wonder if Skopelos is worth visiting because it certainly is 1000 times. First of all, it is not yet an overcrowded place, so you will enjoy the peacefulness. Second, you will be thrilled by the lush landscape, more the 80% of the island is covered by pine forest. Third, the majesticbeaches, fourth, the Chora of Skopelos… Not to mention that most of the Mamma Mia movie scenes were shot on Skopelos island.
I will stop counting the numerous reasons to visit Skopelos, and I will guide you on how to travel there. Traveling to Skopelos Island requires to use of more than one kind of transportation. Notethat there is no direct route from Athens to Skopelos.
Very Important Note
If you are traveling from Athens, then Mantoudi port, in Evia, is the cheapest and fastest way to do so.
Mantoudi Evia
Mantoudi or Kymasi is a village on the northern side of Evia. It is about 140 km away from Athens and 54 km from Chalkida. Mantoudi in Evia is a relatively new harbor, which has been operating for the last decade. It is located in a central area since you have to pass from Mantoudi to reach other tourist places of Evia, such as Loutra Edipsou, Agia Anna, Pyrgos, and Istiea. Furthermore, the Church of Agios Ioannis Rossos (Saint John the Russian) is also very close to Mantoudi, in the Prokopi. From Mantoudi small port, run the ferries to the Skiathos and Skopelos islands.
From Mantoudi Evia to Skopelos

mantoudi Lines (New – Launched Summer 2025)
Mantoudi Lines is a new ferry company launched in July 2025, offering direct daily sailings from Mantoudi (Evia) to Skopelos (Agnontas port) and Alonissos.
Service is operated by the high-speed ferry ZEPHYROS, which carries passengers, vehicles, bicycles, and pets.
anes Ferries
AGIOS NEKTARIOS BOAT of ANES FERRIES will follow the route Mantoudi – Skiathos -Glossa. The trip duration is 3 hours and 20 minutes.
Travel Cost
The trip to Skopelos from Mantoudi in Evia is the cheapest one.
Superrunner Jet of Seajets
For PASSENGER the cost varies as follows: 33,70€ (economic), 39,70€ (Silver), 48,80€ (Club), and 78,50€ (Platinum). Infants and children up to 5 years travel for free, and children from 5 -10 years have a 50% discount. The Student discount is valid only for students of Greek Universities and for open university students. Itineraries
The most common route is Skiathos port- Loutraki port (Glossa, Skopelos)- Skopelos port (Chora). Tip: By booking your tickets, you should also ask about the ferry route since there are alternative οnes. Check also in which port you disembark, Skopelos Port (Chora), Agnontas, or Loutraki Port (Glossa).
Trip duration
SUPERRUNNER JET ride takes 1 hour and 15 minutes. TIP: The trip duration depends on the boat route, so check carefully to find the fastest one before booking your ticket.

SEAJET will operate ferry routes starting from April 11, 2025, with the high-speed vessels SPEEDRUNNER JET 2 and/or IOLKOS, SPORADES STAR, departing from the port of Mantoudi (Kymasi) to the islands of the Northern Sporades.
April 11, 2025 – May 28, 2025
From April 11, 2025, the SPEEDRUNNER JET 2 will run every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
Additional sailings will be available during Easter.
Summer Season: May 29, 2025 – End of September
Starting from May 29, 2025, daily sailings will begin with two departures at 10:30 and 13:45 from Mandoudi.
October 2025+
SEAJETS will operate 1-2 sailings per week.

How to get from Athens to Mantoudi, Evia
By your Car
If you travel with your vehicle from Athens to Mantoudi, you will need approximately 2 hours. TIP: BE CAREFUL since the road approaching the harbor has several turns.
By Local Bus (KTEL)
If you do not have your vehicle, you can go by bus (KTEL) from KTEL Liosion or KTEL Evia. TIP: When searching for bus routes, you should look for Kumasi instead of Mantoudi.Cost of KTEL
The cost is 14.00 € for a simple transfer and 26.00 € for a return.Duration
The KTEL bus from Athens to Mantoudi, Evia, takes approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes. There is no direct way from Athens to Skopelos.
