In ancient times, the name Skopelos was Peparithos. In fact, the first inhabitants of Skopelos were, during the Mycenaean years, Peparithos and his brother Staphylos, Sons of God Dionysus and princess Ariadne, daughter of King Minos in Crete.

Back then, ancient Greeks used to drink the Peparithio wine. Maybe, in Peparithos Restaurant, you can also taste this “magic” drink.
