KASTANI BEACH
You can visit Kastani Beach in Skopelos and swim in its crystal clear waters. You do not need to have supplies of water, juice, or light meals because there is an organized beach bar on the beach. (Different from that shown in the film)
- To begin with, Kastani Beach is 15 km from Skopelos Town (the short road). By car, you will need about 30 minutes to reach.
- The beautiful Kastani is a beach surrounded by pine trees that create a natural shade. It is a beautiful bay with fine sand and rocks at each end. The magnificent Kastani beach has small pebbles between the white sand.
- Of course, Kastani Beach in Skopelos is an organized beach, with sunbeds, umbrellas, and all the necessary amenities. There is also a Beach Bar offering you coffee, soft drinks, drinks, cocktails, snacks, and salads as well as lots of fun.
OTHER INFORMATION
1: When driving you should be careful when approaching Kastani beach because the last 500 meters of the road are not covered by asphalt.
2: Be prepared that you will not just face the same picture as in the movie Mamma Mia! The wooden pier and Don’s bar were additional interventions by the film’s creators and were removed after the end of filming. With or without a pier and a bar Kastani remains one of the most beautiful beaches of the Aegean.
3: The Kastani Beach Bar often hosts gorgeous theme parties and parties with great DJs or singers for extra fun on the island of Mamma Mia.
4: Opposite you will also see the small island of Dassia which is constantly shown in the film.
GLISTERI BEACH
Another beach to visit is the Glysteri and see where Villa Donna’s entrance was located
- Glisteri is 4.2 km from Chora and Skopelos Port. It will take you about 10 minutes by car or taxi to reach Glisteri Beach.
- Access to Glisteri Beach is easy. Follow the ring road leading to Skopelos Castle.
