UltraSwim 33.3 Greece 2025: Skopelos Island’s Ultimate Open Water Swimming Challenge
UltraSwim 33.3 Greece returned in 2025 to the stunning island of Skopelos, bringing another unforgettable edition of the Epic Adventure Swim Race Series™. Following the success of the 2024 event, athletes from around the world gathered once again to tackle the challenge of swimming 33.3 kilometers in the pristine waters of the Northern Sporades. The four-day open water swimming event combined athletic endurance with the natural beauty and rich culture of one of Greece’s most scenic islands.
An Iconic Skopelos Adventure
Skopelos, internationally recognized as the filming location for Mamma Mia!, offers an unrivaled backdrop for long-distance swimming. From sheltered coves to exposed northern coastlines, swimmers encountered various conditions that tested skill and stamina. The sea temperatures, ranging from 22–26°C, provided warm, inviting waters, allowing participants to focus on the thrill of the swim rather than the chill.
Each day of the race offered new challenges and awe-inspiring scenery, from dramatic cliffs to serene beaches, making the UltraSwim 33.3 an adventure unlike any other.
UltraSwim 33.3 – Four Days of Swimming Excellence
The 2025 event maintained the point-to-point format that has made UltraSwim 33.3 unique. Each day presented a different segment of the overall 33.3 km course, allowing swimmers to explore multiple corners of Skopelos. The race attracted participants ranging from elite open water swimmers to passionate amateurs ready to push their limits.
Day 0 – Arrival and Warm-Up
Swimmers arrived at Skopelos and enjoyed a warm-up in the inviting Aegean waters. ️ The pre-event preparation included briefing sessions, safety measures, and an introduction to the various routes. Athletes experienced the calm bays and crystal-clear waters that would feature prominently in the race.
️ Day 1 – Initial 8 km Challenge
The first day of the UltraSwim 33.3 Greece 2025 kicked off with excitement and perfect swimming conditions. Participants covered a total of 8.3 kilometers along Skopelos’ idyllic coastline, with water temperatures at 25°C and nearly calm seas. The day featured two routes:
Route A: Loutraki – Neo Klima (3.7 km)
Route B: Neo Klima – Panormos (4.6 km)
Participants completed 8.3 kilometers, leaving 25 kilometers to be covered in the following days of the race. This event is part of the Epic Adventure Swim Race Series™ and offers a unique opportunity for athletes to test their endurance in open water while enjoying the natural beauty of Skopelos.
️ Day 2 – Exploring Hidden Coves
Today, participants faced the first straight course of the race, covering a total of 7.9 km.
Forecasts for strong winds led to a modification of the route: the first section followed the coastline, followed by two laps in the sheltered waters of Stafylos Bay.
The choppy sea posed a challenge for the swimmers, but the vibrant scenery provided extra motivation: lush green forested hills, ochre-colored coastline, and turquoise waters.
Day 3 – The Panormos Stretch
Marathon Day… complete! Day 3 was the turn for the longest and most anticipated swim of the event: the marathon!
The route began with two Ironman-distance laps in Panormos Bay, followed by a swim along Skopelos’ coastline to Limnonari Beach.
The finish was full of emotion, with many swimmers completing the longest swim of their lives: 11.2 km
Day 4 – Grand Finale
The final day was filled with emotions, stunning landscapes, and unforgettable moments.
The route spanned 4.9 km, featuring two choppy crossings to and from Dasiá Island. Participants enjoyed pristine white rocky shores and the surprising experience of swimming through a sea cave tucked behind the island.
The highlight of the day was the finish, with swimmers, F3 escorts, kayakers, and event staff sharing the moment while receiving their finisher medal and droplet.

Once again, the hospitality of Adrina Hotels and Adrina Resort & Spa in Panormos played a crucial role in the success of the 2025 UltraSwim 33.3. ️ Athletes enjoyed world-class accommodations, personalized care, and a seamless balance of luxury and practicality.

The hotels’ focus on high-quality service, combined with stunning views over the Aegean, provided a refreshing counterbalance to the physical demands of the race. Guests and athletes alike experienced a unique combination of relaxation and adventure, strengthening the appeal of Skopelos as a premier sports tourism destination.
Beyond the Swim – Community and Connection
UltraSwim 33.3 is not only a swimming challenge but also a community experience. Participants ranged from solo travelers to families and groups, all united by their love for open water swimming.
For companions who were not swimming, the F3 Friends, Family, Fans program offered curated experiences, including local excursions, cultural visits, and guided tours of Skopelos’ highlights. This approach ensured that every visitor, swimmer or not, could enjoy the island to its fullest.
A Race Set Against Skopelos’ Natural Splendor

The route even passed iconic landmarks like the cliffside church of Agios Ioannis Kastri, giving swimmers a chance to immerse themselves in the cinematic scenery made famous by Mamma Mia!. Each day combined endurance, strategy, and appreciation for one of the most beautiful islands in Greece. ️
