Once visiting Skopelos island there are many beautiful villages to see. Actually, Panormos Village is more of a seaside area than a village. Furthermore, the word Panormos in greek means sheltered harbor. Blo is the name of the natural harbor of Panormos. Captains prefer to moor their sailboats there since it is a safe haven.
Panormos Village is about 18 km from Skopelos Town if you follow the coastal road through Stafilos and Agnontas. Instead, it is about 12 km if you take the shorter route through the Agios Riginos provincial road.
Panormos’ green nature and blue waters are the unique characteristics of this little coastal town. Sunset at Panormos, at Skopelos, is an idyllic picture. Not to mention the perfect combination of the pine trees that are almost rooted into the sea with the turquoise waters. Unfortunately, some years ago a fire broke out on a slope opposite Panormos beach. Nevertheless, the damaged hill was redeveloped and slowly appeared beautiful pines again.
Panormos was one of the three ancient fortified towns of Skopelos Island. The top of the hill above Panormos is named Paliokastro. There you can find ruins in very good condition from the walls of the ancient city. From Paliokastro there is a path that leads to the cave of Panas. This place called Spilia is the only place of worship of the deity of Panas on Skopelos.
Panormos Village on Skopelos island is a popular destination. Especially among families. Along the coast there are many taverns and restaurants, offering fresh fish and local dishes, literally on the beach. They also offer sunbeds and umbrellas. During the summer season, there are also several rented accommodations for a pleasant stay, as well as supermarkets and seasonal shops.
