PANAGITSA OF PYRGOS

Skopelos island has about 365 churches as many days of the year. One of the most popular is the Church Panagitsa of Pyrgos, which is located on a rock at the right end of the old harbor of Skopelos. It is visible everywhere and is the trademark of Skopelos Town. It has stood on the same spot since 1660, is dedicated to the Presentation of the Virgin Mary, and is celebrated on 21 November.
